Setting the Price of Ads, Sponsorships, etc.

Are you thinking about launching some on-line ads, sponsorship of an association event, etc. and not sure how you should price them?

Consider auctioning them off to your members using a process where bidders can see the current high bid and they can bid multiple times.  If there is demand, then this process will drive the price to what the market will bear.

Think about your launch of web site advertising.... would you rather have 30 pages with ads at an average price of x dollars, or would you prefer to launch with one page with an ad at 4x dollars.

Competition presents better (a reasonable number of ads is better than 1 or 2 lonely ads), and will lead to higher prices...assuming that the advertiser, sponsor, etc. receives value.

You'll get the most revenue, your vendors will know the price is fair, your members get exposure to the best value offers.

Let's start the bidding...!
